Throwing Trash Carelessly, 9 Residents Fined Rp 200 Thousand

Trash volume in Jakarta’s anniversary this year is less than previous year, because not many people littered, which mostly were mineral water bottles. Their awareness in dumping trash to trash bins was also high,” she stated, Monday (6/23).

According to Kusumadewi, her party provided many trash bins during JNF implementation. Moreover, the scavengers also helped to pick up the trashes left, like plastic bottles for resale.

“We provide trash bin on each stage and in every 50 meters along the event’s location. Almost all trash bins were full. However, JNF visitors this year were not as much as last year,” she uttered.

Meanwhile, the amount of trash collected after the Jakarnaval held on Sunday (6/22) was 4 tons. After the event finished, janitors directly cleaned the trashes, so city streets are clean again from trashes.
